For many years I searched for purpose. I looked in jobs. I explored relationships. I sought out self-help to understand my inner-whatever. And I always came up short. But you don’t have to.

If you seek purpose this way, you’ll always be searching. Your purpose happens because you exist. It’s something that occurs as a result of your being. You don’t have to do anything to achieve your purpose but be the truest version of yourself.

Trust Your Inner Authority

Where I believe it’s easy to get off track is to ignore what’s right for you. When you remain in places or with people and your body is screaming at you to make another choice. And you tamper that inner guidance that is trying to get you back on track so that you can serve your purpose and find the satisfaction or success you’ve been seeking.

Purpose happens easiest when you’re in alignment with your surroundings. How you express your purpose is through being in correct alignment. So what does that mean?

The expression of your purpose will change over time. Let your inner guidance systems move you through experiences and the locations of those experiences. Then you’ll be living your purpose.

Living Example

Here’s an example. I believe my purpose is to teach others how to understand the people, places, and circumstances that surround them through their own awareness. I guide you through you. As a result, there is more grace in the world, less friction, and more satisfaction, and success.

That is expressed currently through my voice. And what I communicate is a result of everything I’ve learned through direct experience, reading, video, etc that I was exposed to because I asked to know more.

It was natural for me to ask questions. I had to learn to ask better ones. It was natural for me to be available for answers when others ask why or how. I had to learn to known when it was right to respond. And it is natural for me to guide people to find their own way when there seems to be a regulated path. I had to learn that my way isn’t always the best, but to help you discover the way that works for you.

How To Enable Your Purpose

So when people tell me they want a better job or relationship or car. If it’s right for me, I ask, why? What is that going to do for you? That answer tells me the truth of what you’re trying to solve for. And it’s usually an unresolved expression of purpose.

So ask yourself why. Maybe even do an exercise of asking yourself why five times. “I want this. Why? Because of that. Why? Because I …” On the other side of why is your experience. And the experience will enable your purpose.
