After leaving a sanctuary enveloped in the solitude and reflection of the High Priestess, the Fool suddenly encounters a vast and plentiful world of abundance. Like the High Priestess, the Empress has created a world entirely of their own design. But the space is also more than sacred. Everything within the Empress’ sight is vibrantly alive, growing, and full of energy. And that includes the Fool.
Surviving Coming Out
When the Fool enters the realm of the Empress and shares his coming out story, the Empress calmly walks over to her iPhone (‘cause she has one of everything) and cues up a song for airplay. “I’m Every Woman” plays loud and clear. The Fool has found their first diva. Depending on the Fool’s generation, she can appear as Judy Garland, Patti LuPone, or Maria Callas. The Empress could easily be Whitney Houston, Beyonce, RuPaul, or Lady Gaga (to name a few). It’s love at first sight for the Fool. She can do no wrong. The Empress is also frequently seen as Lea DeLaria with a pair of Doc Martins and a ring of keys to be rivaled. Either way, the Fool is welcomed and the Empress and the Fool dance. They just dance.
Surviving Coming Out & Health
sThe Empress always has too much of a good thing on hand and the Fool is about to learn to test a few limits. It’s probably a good thing the Fool hasn’t met the Devil yet or he might find himself addicted to the land the Empress rules. Indulging too much in everything rather than setting limits and respecting boundaries. Still, having never been here before, the Fool is testing and exploring those boundaries. So there is to be experiences of excess that lead to discomfort. Occasional hangovers, bloody noses, and sore muscles might be a recurring experience the Fool will learn to navigate next time the Empress is encountered.
Surviving Coming Out & Relationships
Besides the Fool experiencing a first love based on the material things, they may also experience a relationship that includes a generation gap. It’s not a surprise that the Fool seeks understanding a romantic relationship from an experienced lover. It’s also not out of character for the knowledgable Empress to want to impart wisdom to a younger lover. Still, the Empress probably knows far better than the Fool, that there is little stability in that relationship. In addition, the Emperor will probably also come home to restore order. An indulgent leader and an uneducated Fool in a leadership position is never advisable.
