Get Things Done Using the Four Elements

Project Management

Projects are any undertaking that solves a problem by producing a product, service, or a result. How do you know you have a project on your hands? When you realize you want to solve a problem and it’s going to take more than two minutes.

The Project Management Institute has codified what a successful project looks like. But if you want your soul centered business running now, do you really have time to learn the entire Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), on top of learning about business, to get going?

I didn’t think so.

Project management is the job that pays my mortgage. I’ve been through the PMBOK and utilize project management best practices every day. And I started thinking, because you’re trying to follow your passion, and let’s face it, that can get messy and off track, how can I translate a lot of what I know about project management into something that might stick and get you a bit more organized?

You can use the four elements!

Four Elements

So you probably already know the four elements. But let’s do a quick refresher to make sure you and I are on the same page.

Earth – your material things. The stuff you can touch, feel, taste.
Air – your mental space. The stuff you organize, decision, aspire.
Fire – your creativity. The stuff you dream about, fight for, your ideas, desire.
Water – your emotions. The stuff you experience, feel, relate.
Spirit (bonus!) – your experience with spirit. The voice, conscious, journey, Goddess, God, Gods, energy.

I believe that you have an end goal in mind for your passion business. Something like working for yourself, on your schedule, where you’re most comfortable, while still providing for you and/or your family. (If you’re not sure what your end goal of pursuing your passion is, a Tarot reading may be in order!)

Now, because you have a goal in mind, you probably also know several of the things that need to get done. I think that the four elements can help you organize yourself in a way that works for you. Especially if traditional methods don’t work.

Getting Past the Unknown

For example, if you don’t know where or how to start, using the method I’ll outline below will get you started.

Planning can be overwhelming for some people. I get it. I see it. That’s where I come in. I love to start, plan, and implement projects. It’s not for everyone.  Having someone show you the road can be just the jumping off point you need to be successful.

If you’re a creative introvert who wants to change the world, the experience of getting started and staying on track can be extremely challenging. You have your own way and it always works out. But it works out at the cost of time, stress, and sanity.

I’ve lead creatives through timelines that even I had doubts about. But I am also energized by the creative entrepreneur who lives in their dreamy dream world. Working with someone who understands your spirit and is inspired by your gifts in a loving and trusting space is something I provide that you just don’t experience with other project managers.

Don’t let planning fail you as it has before. Trust the elements to organize you. Ground yourself, focus, drive your actions, and enjoy the ride!

Ask for Help

I also encourage you to ask for help when you need it. Reading this post is a good start.

Set your mind at ease. Project management is a stuffy practice that I like to make approachable. It is simply the art of getting things done. I guide you to get things done. A lot like a coach on planning steroids.

A quick secret: project managers love to organize your stuff. ‘Cause the way everyone else organizes is secretly wrong to us. So don’t worry if you feel like you know where you’d like to end up but you’ve got post-its of ideas, Evernote checklists, and passwords in the bottom of your purse. Let’s look at it all and pull it together into a clear plan you can get started moving on today.

No Learning Required

The best thing about employing the elements to keep you on track is that you don’t have to learn anything new! Because you already know what they are, you can already start to image how you can get creative with planning, organize and decision your next steps, actively deliver on your goals, and enjoy celebrating your success!

Hopefully this system puts you in a place where you don’t need someone else to help keep you on track. But if you need support, reach out. I’m happy to talk through what your challenges are. In fact, I’d love to hear what you’re currently struggling with as you try to get that passion business moving!

Tarot + Project Mangement

I can imagine you saying, “Why would I tell him what I’m struggling with? I don’t need a tarot reading.” That’s just the thing. I marry two worlds. I marry successful project management and Tarot. I use Tarot to help clarify the in between unknowns and I employ project management to get that stuff moving.

The benefit that brings is providing the objective advice of a Tarot reading with the active design of a plan to succeed. If you’re tired of spinning your wheels, if you’re feeling burnt out on your own, then let’s work together to get you moving!

If you just need some quick tips though, let’s stay connected. I’ve outlined some simple steps based on the elements.

Get My Passion Business On Track

Get In The Habit

If you’re not ready to work in a project management style, even based on the elements, you’re going to find yourself slipping back into old habits and not moving forward. I don’t want that to happen.

Creating some new habits are going to be paramount. Get the steps based on the elements here. Once you have them you might need to set some reminders for yourself on your phone. Or in a project management tool, like Asana. You may also want to tell others that you’re trying something new to hold you accountable. Share this article with them so they know what you’re doing.

If you get overwhelmed and just toss everything to the side, connect with me. Let’s talk through it. I’ll set aside some time for you.

Requirements for Success

We can chat about how the elements could help inspire your success. We can discuss traditional project management. We can talk about scheduling a Tarot reading for clarification. Or we can just chat about what you need to be successful. I have access to soul centered business coaches that might be a good fit for you if it turns out they could drive your success.

Project management has a place in the world of the spiritual entrepreneur. I believe it’s required for success. If you’re not focused, organized, and driving toward an outcome with a plan, your chances of success are greatly reduced.

Your Vision Will Materialize

If you work with the elements as a project plan you will see:

  • achievable steps to your desired outcome
  • incremental progress in your business

Your Life Will Change

If you work with the elements as a project plan you will feel:

  • accountable
  • successful
  • supported
  • way less stress

Will You Succeed

I want to see you succeed! I love to help other people figure out the steps between today and the outcome you’d like to achieve tomorrow and then help you get there. If you don’t see or feel the actions mentioned above, let me know what you’re struggling with as you try and move your passion business forward.
