During Gay Pride month, and as Chicago leans into the weekend of the LGBTQ pride parade, I wanted to do a quick reading on the gay pride voice.
Gay Pride Voice: Self – 5 Pentacles
What we share with the world about ourselves can often create feelings of isolation due to non-acceptance or the fear of non-acceptance due to our own perceptions of how others will react to when we come out. Our opportunity is to look for the port in the storm. Don’t carry on by yourself. Bring your whole self to wherever you live and you will thrive. There are those who will respond with love and acceptance. Stop walking away, turn around, steel your courage, put yourself out there, and you’ll find those who will support you.
Allies: It’s perfectly okay to be the person who is willing to accept the LGBTQ community. If it’s within you, let us see you light. Shine bright and be a guiding star for others.
Gay Pride Voice: Workplace – 4 Cups
You’ve worked hard to build your skills, expand your network, and shape your experience. Now, bring your authentic self to work and let that inspire you. Sure things are a bit dull and slow right now. But they don’t have to be because you how the power to change the status quo. Being a member of the LGBTQ community is a gift and it’s time to honor that gift.
Allies: Is there someone in your workplace that identifies as LGBTQ who needs a pick me up? Is it time to start an employee resource group and are they an emerging leader? Is there an opportunity for an event focused on LGBTQ community and their gay pride voice could not only make a fabulous event (they’re a planner??) but could also possibly pull together a topic and agenda that would fill a room of people willing to promote and invest in your line of business?
Gay Pride Voice: Relationships – 10 Pentacles
As a friend of mine likes to say, he’s found his tribe and they’re invaluable. They are his support system, chosen family, and those who keep him engaged, humble, inspired, and honest. Have you found and connected with your tribe? Does it expand beyond the LGBTQ community? Who are the allies that you consider part of your tribe?
Allies: Have you found your ally tribe? What does that even look like? Leave a comment and let me know. I think it sounds amazing!
Gay Pride Voice: Quintessence: 19 (Sun) / 10 (Wheel) / 1 (Magician)
Shine bright as you turn the page into the next chapter of your life because you’re about to expand the minds of others in the most amazing way.
